Update on Most Recent Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Local Activity

  • Visits with Influenza-like Illness (ILI) symptoms continue to decline in Marion County Emergency Departments, and they made up only 0.89% of visits for Week 15. This percent is similar to what we see when we are not in the influenza season.

  • There have been 24 influenza-associated deaths for Marion County residents this flu season.

  • In Marion County hospitals’ ED population, ILI was most common in the 0-4 age group. Among ED visits by 0-4 year olds, 2.25% were for ILI. ILI among ED visits by 5-17 year olds was next highest, at 1.53%.

  • The percentage of ILI related ED visits was 1.04%.

  • Children age 0-4 had the highest age-specific percent ILI (2.41%).
