Update on Most Recent Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Local Activity

  • During Week 11, ILI symptoms made up 4.96% of Marion County ED visits, which is above the 2.0% baseline for flu season.

  • There have been seven influenza-associated deaths for Marion County residents this flu season.

  • In Marion County hospitals’ ED population, ILI was most common in the 0-4 age group. Among ED visits by 0-4 year olds 10.24% was for ILI. ILI among ED visits by 5-17 year olds was next highest, at 9.20%.

  • The percentage of ILI related ED visits was 4.65%.

  • Adolescents between 5 to 17 years old had the highest age-specific percent ILI (9.45%).
