Update on Most Recent Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Local Activity
Visits to a Marion County Emergency Department (ED) with Influenza-like Illness (ILI) symptoms were slightly higher for Week 45 than previous years at this time. However, not many were diagnosed with influenza during Week 45.
During Week 45, ILI symptoms made up 1.74% of Marion County ED visits.
There have been 0 influenza-associated deaths for Marion County residents this flu season.
In Marion County hospitals’ ED population, ILI was most common in the 0-4 age group. Among ED visits by 0-4 year olds, 6.19% was for ILI. ILI among ED visits by 5-17 year olds was next highest, at 2.65%.
