Update on Most Recent Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Local Activity

  • Visits to a Marion County Emergency Department (ED) with Influenza-like Illness (ILI) symptoms were slightly higher for Week 45 than previous years at this time. However, not many were diagnosed with influenza during Week 45.

  • During Week 45, ILI symptoms made up 1.74% of Marion County ED visits.

  • There have been 0 influenza-associated deaths for Marion County residents this flu season.

  • In Marion County hospitals’ ED population, ILI was most common in the 0-4 age group. Among ED visits by 0-4 year olds, 6.19% was for ILI. ILI among ED visits by 5-17 year olds was next highest, at 2.65%.
