MESH is excited to announce the fourth speaker in our 2017 Grand Rounds Series! On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, John S. Urbanetti, MD, National/international expert on medical implications of & response to nerve agents, chemicals, other weapons of mass destruction will present Syria - Sarin and Other Substances: How Prepared Are We? at the Eskenazi Health Center -Pecar, 6940 N Michigan Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46268
In April, 2017, the United Nations investigators formally accused the Syrian government of using the banned nerve agent sarin in a deadly chemical weapons attack that left dozens of civilians dead and hundreds more wounded. The attack was one of more than 20 government assaults involving chemical weapons since March 2013, most of them targeting families with no part in the conflict. Could this happen in the U.S.? Are we prepared for such an event? Dr. Urbanetti will address critical issues surrounding treatment of those exposed to Sarin and other potentially deadly chemical agents.
Grand Rounds admission is free and open to the public. A free continental breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 AM, with the presentation following from 8:00-9:00 AM.
