To effectively respond to an emergency event, and remain viable through recovery, healthcare providers need training and practice. MESH provides a broad range of training and education opportunities to subscribing healthcare agencies. Additionally, MESH serves as a clearinghouse for educational best practices and sharing between and among healthcare partners and governmental entities.

MESH offers courses in emergency response and clinical decision making at its Educational Center. Through co-learning opportunities, partnering agencies gain comfort in working together and preparing for an emergency event. MESH also provides on-site educational services to address the specific needs of subscribing hospitals.

Our educators are experts in healthcare disaster response and cutting edge instructional methods. From basic hazardous materials training to complex high fidelity clinical simulation, MESH offers engaging, effective, and relevant educational programs designed to prepare clinicians, emergency managers, administrators, and healthcare personnel to make good decisions under tough conditions.

Every MESH course is designed to inspire students and promote effective learning. Slides are limited, discussion is encouraged and each course provides simulation, small group exercise or other interactive elements.

Non-subscribing hospitals located anywhere in the United States may enroll in MESH courses for a reasonable fee. MESH also provides on-site educational programs on a fee-for-service basis and can work with your institution to develop effective, customized educational programming.

MESH also serves as a clearinghouse for information regarding emergency preparedness courses offered by our partners and coalition members. Courses such as the Basic Disaster Life Support and Advanced Disaster Life Support (National Disaster Life Support Foundation) are offered through partner organizations and are posted on our calendar along with instructions for registration.

Exercise and Evaluation
Classroom educational programs are necessary, but not sufficient, to prepare healthcare providers to respond effectively to emergency events. MESH facilitates tabletop and functional exercises that bring local, county, state, federal and non-governmental agencies together to identify vulnerabilities and innovate solutions.

Coalition members collaborate on projects through a number of standing working groups:
