About MESH
MESH is a non-profit, public-private partnership that enables healthcare providers to effectively respond to emergency events and remain viable through recovery. MESH was founded and led by Dr. Charles Miramonti, an emergency department physician at Wishard Memorial Hospital and Catherine Parker, a health and domestic preparedness grant expert.
MESH has been on the forefront of healthcare emergency preparedness since our inception in 2007. MESH was one of only 5 communities chosen to pilot innovative hospital-based emergency preparedness efforts through a $5 million dollar grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response Division.
The Director of the Marion County Public Health Department, in cooperation with the MESA Emergency Management Division, has designated MESH to serve as the Medical Multiagency Coordination Center (MedMACC) to provide a critical operational link between Marion County healthcare facilities, and the senior leadership at the Marion County Public Health Department, the City of Indianapolis, and the MESA (Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency) Emergency Management Division.
The MedMACC also provides support to the on-scene Incident Commander (IC) / Incident Management Team (IMT) through the Mass Casualty Incident Standard Operating Procedure, or whenever requested by the Incident Commander or Incident Management Team.

Strengthen and sustain a resilient whole community through support of and collaboration with partners and stakeholders throughout the comprehensive healthcare emergency management cycle.
