SFA.

This four-hour Stress First Aid (SFA) course is designed to provide you with skills and knowledge to recognize and address stress reactions in yourself and others. We will focus on understanding stress, identifying signs of acute stress, and applying strategies to reduce its impact, particularly in high-pressure environments.

SFA is not a “one size fits all” model but rather a way of life that is longitudinal and ongoing to support yourself, coworkers, friends, and family in stress reduction and promote self-care.

SFA provides a common language to talk about acute and chronic stress reactions, which can be factors for decreased morale and increased burnout, not just at work but in life outside the workplace.

The course is ideal for professionals in high-stress roles such as healthcare, emergency response, military, or other caregiving fields. Still, it applies to anyone seeking to build emotional and psychological support skills. Participants will gain confidence in managing stress effectively through interactive scenarios and practical exercises.

Using a step-by-step model, participants will learn how to:

Identify early warning signs of stress in themselves and others.

Assess and prioritize the needs of individuals experiencing stress.

Provide immediate support to mitigate stress reactions.

Foster resilience and long-term recovery strategies.
